DBS TAKE 2

Well it was the 23rd May and I finally was having my second surgery of DBS.

The neurosurgeon said that my probe needed putting down to fix my left side. I was really hoping that everything was going to work.

When I woke from the operation , which may I say only took thirty minutes , I was taken for a CT scan to see if the probe was the right spot. I was then taken to the ward.

As I started to wake up properly . My shakes on my left side started to return. I was expecting this to happen as I had not got my settings turned on yet for my left side.

I was shaking really quite bad , so when my DBS Nurse came to visit me she was concerned that I could not go home like this , so she asked the neurosurgeon if she could turn me on my left side that I had just been operated on. he said yes and that was what she done. she tuned me in and I had virtually stopped shaking.

I am a work in progress at the moment , I seem to be still at times and I seem to have my life back. My family and friends cannot believe it . To me its a miracle , something I never thought possible. I am still suffering with pain and dystonia and dyskinesia. But I can Honestly say that I am definately better than before, not perfect , but nearly……
